Demolition Time

So, now you've taken a trip, or two, and are noticing little things like "I really don't need this and I really wish this wasn't there."

I got to that point the first night I was packing our brand new trailer. I got so tired of having to remove the cushions in the dinette to get to the storage spaces underneath.

So I took a hammer and smashed the panel out of the side of it. Now, not only do I have easy access under the seat, I just created a shoe nook! You have NO IDEA how fraking annoying it is to constantly trip over shoes in a tiny space.

There are some panels that are clearly protecting something. Like drilling holes in the wall, I was too afraid to move these panels. Until one day, the panel under the sink broke. And low and behold, there was a MASSIVE amount of storage space under the stove!!! With a little more demo, I took out another panel using a flat head screwdriver to pry apart the crappy staples and now have very easy access to large pans. It may not be pretty right now, but it's so convenient!

MORE SPACE!

These little fraking staples... I loath them.

The cabinet above the dinette has two doors. One side had this protective panel over the electronics of the radio and speaker system. Once I removed the panel and saw that I could easily use a lazy susan in the corner and still protect the wiring, it was done.

Like this pantry cabinet setup?
I'll have a post soon with my organizational ideas. Until then, you can click the links to go directly to these items on Amazon. (lazy susan, containers, expanding shelf and baskets)

BUT, looking for more space doesn't always work. The panel in the cabinet above the kitchen sink is protecting not just electrical wires, but a few massive and sharp screws that stick out about 2 inches from the wall. So, THAT particular panel stayed put.

Get out there and get a little crazy. A little crazy does us all good. Peace Out.

Be sure to check out the Archives for other Organization posts and in the near future, a review of our trailer.
