True Review: Richfield KOA (Utah)

Richfield KOA: July 2019 and May 2020

Richfield has always been one of those gas/pee stops on our way from Southern California to Colorado. Oh, and Subway. We always get a sandwich there and in Beaver. *tee hee*

Ever since Spawn arrived and we have to travel in shorter spurts (versus the marathons "I DROVE THE WHOLE WAY!") and we got the trailer, we ventured into the very easy, and sometimes expensive world of KOA (Kampgrounds of America). F* Yeah! We went ahead and forked out the whole $30 for an annual membership, which has more than quadrupled it's worth already for us. Plus there are some perks. Here are those details if you are so inclined.

Anywho... Richfield is a gorgeous stop along I-70 through the sometimes nothingness that can be Utah. Not that that's a bad thing. It's beautiful, until you realize you forgot to get gas at the last stop and now you are holding your breath and white knuckling the steering wheel hoping for downhills and wind at your back to make it. And we always do.

The Richfield KOA is beautiful. It has lots of trees, gravel/concrete pad sites, and is very clean. We've stayed there twice now and each time we've thought to ourselves that maybe we should have booked two nights to relax and enjoy the pool. Spawn loves the playground, even though she has fallen out of the toddler swing TWICE with minor injuries. The second time we thought she was gonna loose teeth, but all is fine in the world of blood and toddlers. I digress.

They have a charming little store with all the knick-knacks, ice, ice cream and other random needs you may have. The bathrooms are nice and clean (although we didn't use them during the COVID trip). The site is small enough to get around easily, but large enough to have a nice walk. And, as what seems to be an ongoing KOA trend, the staff couldn't be nicer.

Go here. You'll like it.

  1. I can’t believe you didn’t buy an I Love Beaver sticker/button/shot glass!

  2. Ha ha! I've thought about it many, many, many times. If we stay there, it's a definite purchase for the trailer sticker wall.
